Drain Cleaning
There are few things worse than finding raw sewage coming up in the tub after you flush the toilet. Not all things are designed to be flushed. Many of these items do not break down properly in order to be disposed of through a drain system. Hair, grease, sanitary napkins, disposable diapers, and garbage are not suitable for your drain pipes, which are common causes for drains backing up. In order to maintain clear, unobstructed drains capable of carrying away the waste water, we advise our clients to only flush toilet paper and avoid flushing paper towels, disposable diapers, baby wipes, sanitary napkins, etc.In some of our older homes, even with the proper precautions, problems can be inevitable if they contain terra-cotta pipe or Orangeburg pipe, which have long been outdated. Typically, these pipes tend have a shorter lifespan and are prone to sagging, cracking and collapsing.Tree roots can also pose a major problem for your drainage system, because rapidly growing roots can block lines extensively. Additionally, as the roots grow and spread they can cause significant damage as they force pipes to crack.

Repiping
Repiping is necessary when the existing pipes in a building or home are no longer functioning properly and need to be replaced. In many homes over 25 years old, we see galvanized water piping which, as it ages, tends to show an eroded lining, causing the pipes to rust. Along with eliminating the rust, repiping has many other advantages, like eliminating leaky pipes and increasing water pressure. When repiping a home or business, we can discuss the benefits of different piping materials such as PVC, CPVC, copper piping and standard PEX to find what is best suited for you.
Today, the most popular choice is plastic piping due to affordability, since transport and manufacturing of plastic is less expensive than alternatives. The plumbing in newer homes generally consists of PEX piping, which has advantages. PEX piping is flexible, requiring less fittings than other types of piping with the benefit of easy installation and repair. CPVC is typically found in businesses that decide against copper piping. Similar to Sch40, CPVC is rigid, which can be costly as it requires more fittings.
Although it’s the most expensive option, copper piping is resilient and durable, which increases the resale value of a property. It was once customary to use copper piping in a residential setting. However, today copper is more prevalent in commercial applications.
Water Heaters
Water heating is the second largest energy user next to heating and cooling. Many older water heaters are not energy efficient. An energy efficient model can save you money every month. We install all sizes of residential and commercial, natural gas, tank-less, and electric water heaters. Many homes have water heaters that are not performing to their full potential. There are several types of water heaters, with the most common being tank type water heaters. Tank type heaters utilize gas or electricity to continually heat the water in the vessel or container, keeping it hot and always ready for use. Household sizes of water heaters vary, but typical tanks are between 40 or 50 gallons. Energy efficient laws now require all tank type water heaters to be 2” to 3” wider and taller, which poses a concern for homeowners that have their water heater in an area with limited space. The new energy laws also put a restriction on the size of tank type heaters, stating that the maximum size allowed is 55 gallons. Above this limit, all heaters must be tankless or hybrid water heaters.
Gaining popularity among homeowners and business owners alike, tankless water heaters provide unbeatable efficiency and save substantial amounts of energy and money over time. States are also incentivizing the purchase of tankless water heaters, because of their energy efficiency, by offering rebates. Only heating water on demand, tankless heaters do not retain water internally. Instead, the water is heated instantly as it flows internally through the heat exchanger coils of the device. Tankless water heaters are largely powered with propane or natural gas, and have the advantage of smaller size as well as indoor or outdoor application.
Hydro-Jetting
Hydro-jetting cleans and unblocks drains from debris, grease, roots, sand and dirt by utilizing high water pressure. This technique is recommended for homes, schools, hospitals, restaurants, and commercial buildings. Where a traditional drain cleaning cable can leave debris behind, hydro-jetting will thoroughly clean your line. Having raw sewage or grease back up into your home is unhealthy and disgusting.
